3D Mattress Rendering and Exploded Layer Visualization for Besolux Group

Besolux Group, a Polish company, provided reference photographs of the mattress together with information about its construction.
Our task was to recreate the mattress digitally in 140 × 200 × 25 cm size and prepare several product views on a consistent neutral background.

An important part of the brief was realism.

The internal layers needed visible material differences and detailed textures while avoiding the overly smooth or artificial appearance often associated with basic computer-generated images.

The client also requested layered PSD files, allowing the mattress, background, and shadow to be handled separately during graphic design and post-production.

We started by creating an accurate 3D model of the mattress based on reference photographs.

Particular attention was paid to the elements that strongly influence how realistic a mattress looks in CGI:

• mattress proportions and overall geometry;
• edge shape and softness;
• quilting pattern;
• fabric structure;
• seams and stitching;
• corner deformation;
• surface volume;
• realistic interaction between fabric and padding.

Mattresses may appear geometrically simple, but creating convincing mattress CGI requires much more than making a rectangular object.

Small details in quilting, fabric tension, stitching and edge softness can determine whether the final image looks like a real photographed product or an obvious 3D model.

The first group of images consisted of clean mattress packshot renders.

All product views were created using the same background, lighting style and camera approach to maintain visual consistency.

This type of 3D mattress product rendering is especially useful for:

We therefore focused on creating subtle variations in:

The objective was not to exaggerate the textures but to make the materials readable while preserving a premium product presentation.

Both the traditional packshot renders and the exploded mattress visualization were produced using the same neutral background.

Maintaining a consistent visual environment is particularly valuable for manufacturers with multiple mattress models.

When every SKU is photographed separately, differences in lighting, perspective, background and post-production can make an online catalog look inconsistent.

With 3D product rendering, the same virtual studio setup can be applied across an entire mattress collection.
This helps brands create a cleaner and more recognizable product presentation.

The final images were also prepared so that the product could be separated from the background and shadow.

Providing layered PSD files for mattress renders gives marketing and graphic design teams additional flexibility.
