For one product and a small number of images, traditional photography may be completely reasonable.
The economics change when the number of products grows.
Imagine a mattress manufacturer selling:
- 10 mattress models;
- several comfort levels;
- different fabrics;
- multiple thicknesses;
- several sizes.
Photography may require repeated preparation, transportation, studio time, styling, shooting, and retouching.
With 3D rendering, much of the work can be reused.
A digital mattress model can be modified to create another firmness level, fabric variation, quilting pattern, or product thickness without recreating the entire production process.
This makes 3D mattress visualization increasingly efficient as the number of SKUs grows.
